FOLEY, Alabama — State troopers are investigating a pair of fatal crashes in Baldwin County on Thursday, July 30, one involving a motorcycle and the other involving teenagers.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. Thursday, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported the death of a Bay Minette man killed after the motorcycle he was riding was rear-ended by a pickup truck on U.S. 31 near Reed Lane in North Baldwin County.

Terry Odell Robinson, 66, of Bay Minette, was pronounced dead at the scene when his 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle was struck from behind by a 2012 Chevy Colorado, reportedly driven by Robert G. Day of Bay Minette while traveling southbound.

Just 25 minutes later, at approximately 8:05 p.m., the driver of a 2009 Nissan Xterra, identified by troopers only as a 16-year-old male, was killed when the vehicle, traveling west on County Road 54 left the roadway and struck a tree near Newport Lane, which is approximately four miles east of Alabama 181 between Silverhill and the Belforest Community east of Daphne.

The teen was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other teen passengers were in the vehicle, according to the release, at least one of whom was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Alabama troopers are continuing to investigate both crashes.
