Fairhope Storm 19, Alabama Steel 14
LaMarcus Farmer was the Storm Player of the Game
FAIRHOPE — LaMarcus Farmer was named the Amazing Eyes Optical Player of the Game for the Storm last week after their 19-14 win at Majors Field. The victory avenged Fairhope’s only loss of the year on the road at the Alabama Steel.
In the first half, Farmer (out of West Florida Tech in Pensacola), returned a kickoff for a touchdown with an 85-yard score and caught a 25-yard TD pass from Paris Chambers (McGill-Toolen Catholic).
With the rushing TD by Jamal Vines (Spanish Fort High), Fairhope took a 19-14 lead and the Storm defense held for a second-half shutout and the win.
Jose Mendoza’s (Foley High) booming punts also helped keep the Steel away from the red zone.
