Need a cool drink this weekend? Visit a local lemonade stand on Saturday, Lemonade Day.

Mayors Tony Kennon, Ralph Hellmich, and Robert Craft of the cities of Orange Beach, Foley, and Gulf Shores recently proclaimed Saturday, May 15, 2021 as Lemonade Day Coastal Alabama at recent city council meetings.

The mayors and councils spoke on the benefits of the nationwide educational program, based out of Houston, Texas, which first came to the Coastal Alabama area back in 2018. The program is run by the Coastal Alabama Business and South Baldwin Chambers.

"Having the support of the cities means so much to us," said Coastal Alabama Lemonade Day City Directory Penny Hughey, "Being able to be recognized during city council meetings puts so many new eyes on the program and introduces people to something they might not have been previously aware was happening in the community."

Students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade will have stands seat up throughout Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Foley on Saturday. For a list of stands visit the Lemonade Day Coastal Alabama website.
