August and September will see two exciting events for the Lower Alabama Young Professionals (LAYP). The organization, a partnership between the Coastal Alabama and South Baldwin Chambers of Commerce, serves leaders in the community in the age range of 21 to 40.

The first event for LAYP to enjoy will be the WAHOO! Lower Alabama Young Professionals Baseball Social, taking place on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Attendees can catch the party bus at The Wharf at 5 p.m. and take a ride over to Pensacola to catch the game between the Pensacola Wahoos and the Biloxi Shuckers. First pitch happens at 6:35 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $65, and include roundtrip bus ride from The Wharf to Pensacola, a ticket to the game on the Coors Light Deck, Wahoos hat, ballpark fare buffet and non-alcoholic drinks. For those who choose to drive themselves and meet the group at the stadium, $40 will get you all the additional perks. Alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the stadium during this 21+ event. The party bus seats only 50 people, so those looking to join a night out with the LAYP can purchase tickets at bit.ly/laypbaseball21.

Then, don’t miss the Lower Alabama Young Professionals Barks, Bags, & Brews II Cornhole Social, presented by Columbia Southern University, taking place on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 2 - 5 p.m. at The Wharf @ the boardwalk behind the YoHo Boat Bar. Teams of two can register now at bit.ly/laypbbb2. Then, on Sept. 26, 24 teams are invited to show what they’ve got during the tournament for their chance to win some awesome prizes, including two Yeti coolers. The event is open to all ages, and acts as a fundraiser for shelter dogs and cats in our area. A portion of all proceeds raised will go to support their efforts. Donations of dog or cat food, beds, litter, leashes and toys are welcome and appreciated. For more details, contact candice@southbaldwinchamber.com.

The LAYP serves to provide young professionals in the Foley, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach areas with resources and connections to fellow young professionals and gives them the opportunity to interact with local chambers. The LAYP were founded with a focus on three pillars: connect, engage and develop.
