Maritime Training Center offers classes

Maritime Foundations: Class is 11/02/21 – 11/18/21, Tuesday - Thursday, 6 - 10 p.m. Applications accepted until 10/04/21. Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED. Maritime Foundations is a course designed to help improve the skills needed for our welding and structural fitting classes, such as fractions, decimals, percentages and metrics. The course also includes introductions to maritime crafts, safety, maritime industry and welding.

 

NCCER Structural Welding Night Class: Class is 02/07/22 – 05/19/22, Monday - Thursday, 6 - 10 p.m. Applications accepted until 12/13/21. Must be 18 +, eligible to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED. Those with NCCER Core Curriculum will be automatically accepted upon verification credentials. NCCER Structural Welding covers Oxyfuel Cutting, SMAW Equipment & Setup, and GMAW & FCAW Equipment & Filler Metals.

 

NCCER Structural Fitting Night Class: Class is 02/07/22 – 05/19/22, Monday -Thursday, 6  - 10 p.m. Applications accepted until 12/13/21. Must be 18 +, eligible to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED. Those with NCCER Core Curriculum will be automatically accepted upon verification credentials. Structural Fitting introduces layout tools, fitting tools, and fitting aids used to fit up and align plate joints; Incorporates hands-on tasks through which the beginning fitter will learn how to perform basic layout, alignment, and fit-up tasks; Covers interpretation of fabrication and installation drawings.

 

First Step Night Class is 11/08/21, 6 - 8 p.m. Applications accepted until 10/11/21. Day Class is 11/09/21, 10 a.m. - noon. Applications accepted until 10/11/21. First Step will introduce you to the AIDT Maritime Training Facility and give you a basic rundown of each class on the MTC career path. We’ll also help you figure out which level to start on. Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED.

 

NCCER Structural Welding Day Class: Class is 01/04/22 – 03/29/22, Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Applications accepted until 11/15/21. Must be 18 +, eligible to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED. Those with NCCER Core Curriculum will be automatically accepted upon verification credentials. NCCER Basic Rigging Night Class: Class is 10/19/21 – 10/20/21, 6 - 10 p.m. Applications accepted until 10/04/21. Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED. Topic includes NCCER Basic Rigging Module 00106 which covers: Basic information related to rigging and rigging hardware such as slings, rigging hitches, and hoists and safe working habits in the vicinity of rigging operations.

 

NCCER Core Day Curriculum Class: Day Class is 11/15/21 – 12/09/21, Monday - Thursday 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Applications accepted until 10/25/21. Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED. Basic Safety, Intro to Construction Math, Intro to Hand Tools, Intro to Power Tools, Intro to Construction Drawings, Basic Communication Skills, Basic Employability Skills, Intro to mat Handling Those with NCCER Core Curriculum will be automatically accepted upon verification credentials.

 

Intermediate Blueprint Reading Class: Class is 10/12/21 – 10.2821. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Applications accepted until 09/20/21. Topics covered include:, Ship terminology, Ship abbreviations, Modern drawings, Fabrication.

 

NCCER Core Curriculum Night Class: Night Class is 11/1/21 – 12/02/21. Monday - Thursday 6 – 10 p.m. Applications accepted until 10/11/21. Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED. Basic Safety, Intro to Construction Math, Intro to Hand Tools, Intro to Power Tools, Intro to Construction Drawings, Basic Communication Skills, Basic Employability Skills, Intro to mat Handling Those with NCCER Core Curriculum will be automatically accepted upon verification credentials.

 

NCCER Fire Watch Class: Night Class is 10/26/21 – 10/27/21, 6 - 10 p.m. Applications accepted until 09/27/21. This course teaches the different classes of fires and methods to extinguish them, the duties and responsibilities of a fire watch, and the different types of fire extinguishers and their inspection requirements.
