Mother, son sought in Daphne machete attack

DAPHNE -- Police are searching for a mother and son who are suspected of using a machete to attack a man being held in their home against his will.

Police are looking for Tamekia Williams, 36, and her son, Jaylin Williams, 22. The two are suspected of assaulting a man at around 9 p.m. Saturday. According to a police statement, the two suspects kept the man in the Williams’ home for several hours, holding him at knifepoint.

When the man attempted to escape, Jaylin Williams stabbed him several times and Tamika Williams slashed him with a machete, the statement said.

The victim ran from the house to a nearby restaurant. He was flown to the USA Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Tamekia and Jaylin Williams have both been charged with second-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment. Police are attempting to locate the two suspects.
