North Baldwin Infirmary (NBI) Cardiac Imaging Services now has a new cardiac stress lab equipped with the technology for walking stress tests, chemically induced stress tests, nuclear stress tests, stress echocardiography and more. Stress tests, such as these, are ordered by a physician to evaluate how exercise and stress affect the body. The test results are used to help determine the next steps in completing cardiac care.
Under the direction of a cardiologist and radiologist and a multidisciplinary team of procedural trained RNs, sonographers and nuclear medicine technologists, the cardiac stress lab is also equipped for image guided minimally invasive procedures and post procedure monitoring. In the future the lab will house a new DEXA Bone Mineral Density Scanner.
