Providence Methodist Church announces new sermon series, activities

SPANISH FORT — Providence United Methodist Church in Spanish Fort announces a new sermon series which will commence on Sunday, Sept. 12 at the church, 32200 Jimmy Faulkner Drive.

For four weeks, sermons will focus on Psalm 118 (Give thanks for the Lord, for he is Good!). The schedule is as follows:

• Sept. 12: Youth Sunday.

• Sept. 19: Mission Sunday.

• Sept. 26: Music Sunday.

• Oct. 3: Children Sunday.

Sunday morning worship services are also streamed live on YouTube.

PUMC men hold a breakfast each month, and all men are invited to join in on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 8 a.m. for a delicious home cooked breakfast. A collection is taken to benefit the Society of Saint Andrew which focuses on feeding the hungry.

Fall activities are starting back, with the regular Sunday schedule for Sunday School and worship. Disciple One classes are being held from 3:30 – 5 p.m. on Sunday evenings. The children enjoy a supper at 5:30 on Sunday evenings, followed by their study on “Princess of Egypt – Keeping hope in God even when times are hard!” Youth Sunday nights include supper at 5:30 p.m. as well as games, prizes, and a consideration of the question, “What does it mean to worship?”
