SUMMERDALE, Alabama — Summerdale Police are investigating the death of a Pensacola man found in a car off of Sherman Road near County Road 28 on Monday.

According to a release issued Tuesday by investigator Otis Miller with the Summerdale Police Department, officers responded to Sherman Road north of County Road 28 for a report of a possible vehicle crash or vehicle stuck.

EMS personnel also responded to the scene, where they found 32-year-old Robert McCoy Lilly of Pensacola, Florida, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There was no damage noted to the vehicle that would lead us to believe an accident had occurred,” according to the release.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time to determine a cause of death. The Baldwin County Coroner's Office is assisting with the investigation.
