ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- There was plenty of tail wagging and signing up for tales on Wednesday, June 9 for the kickoff to the Robertsdale Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.

Participants who registered received a free bag, complete with their very own tail, bookmark and reading log. They were also able to sign up for the “Reading with the Dogs” program and meet resident library canine Gracie May and her friends, Max and Dozier. Following registration, participants received a free ice cream.

Special performances will be held during the month of June beginning at 10 a.m. at the PZK Hall on Alabama 104 (Silverhill Avenue). June 23 will feature Animal Tales and June 30 will feature Freedom Ranch, a non-profit organization that provides education, inspiration and adventure with live animals.
