Alabama Forestry Association Endorses Chris Elliott for State Senate

The Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) announces its endorsement of Republican Chris Elliott who is seeking reelection for State Senate District 32.
“Since he was elected in 2018, Chris has hit the ground running and has developed the reputation as one of the state’s hardest working legislators,” said AFA President and CEO Chris Isaacson. “He represents a district that is a high growth area of the state but still has an active and vibrant forestry industry and we appreciate that Chris understands the need to protect these rural activities. We look forward to working with him for the next four years.”
Elliott has a background as a county commissioner which makes him a policy leader in local governance and this experience allowed him to successfully address some very difficult issues.
This past legislative session, Elliott successfully authored and guided Senate Bill 107 into law. The legislation protects private property rights by limiting the power municipalities have over planning outside of city limits. It also ensures sales tax revenue raised in the Police Jurisdictions is used appropriately for public safety. AFA actively worked to support Elliott in making this bill a success.
"The Alabama Forestry Association is widely regarded as one of the most conservative in Alabama and it is an honor to receive their endorsement,” said Senator Elliott. “I'm proud to have a record of working with the association to author important legislation protecting private property rights and limiting government regulations. I look forward to continuing our work on true conservative lawmaking."
District 32 includes Baldwin County which is now the fastest growing county in Alabama according to the 2020 U.S. Census data.
Elliott will seek the Republican nomination for Senate District 32 in the primary election on May 24, 2022.
