BAY MINETTE, Alabama -- Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. sponsored a Global Give Back day where employees were encouraged to participate in community projects. The theme for 2019 is Global Hunger Relief.

Grant Johnson, Allscripts Senior manager of Professional Services, participated by donating food toward the Pine Grove Elementary Weekend Warrior Program.

This program provides much needed food for students who may not have enough over the weekend.

Grant’s sister, Stacy Overton, is a fifth-grade teacher at Pine Grove School and is very passionate about the needs of her students.

Fortunately, Johnson has heard about these needs and was so generous to donate to this cause. He presented the donation to Pine Grove School Principal, Donnashele Bruister.

In addition, Midhun Charoth, Allscripts senior consultant, donated $50 to be used to start the new Pine Grove School Backpack Program led by Counselor Natalie Ward.

“We would like to extend a very grateful thank you to these gentlemen for their generous donations,” Bruister said. “Also, a thank you to their employer, Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. for their recognition of Global Giveback Day and encouraging their employees to take time to make a difference.”
