Anita Jo Warner Grimard

Anita Jo Warner Grimard, born Nov. 3, 1955, in Mobile, Ala., and was a resident of Stapleton, Ala., passed away on Aug. 17, at the age of 65.

Anita was a 1974 graduate of Shaw High School. She was a dedicated homemaker, mother and granny who treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She loved to sew, cook, and prepare meals for her family. She was the cornerstone of her family, arranging each and every celebration to make all feel special. She always added that personal special touch to everything she did even when she didn't feel her best. She found joy in giving to others without hesitation or expectation. Her family was her life and she always put them first.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Barbara Few, and stepdaughter, Patricia Grimard.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Grimard; two children, Jennifer (Shane) Johnson and Andy (Crissie) Hoppes; and two stepchildren, Jason Grimard and Melissa Grimard; seven grandchildren whom she adored, Meara, Whitney, and Kayla Gronenthal, Destiny and Amelia Johnson, and Brice, Trent and Talon Hoppes; one brother, Joseph Warner; along with many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the physicians and staff at North Baldwin Infirmary for their exemplary care during her battle with COVID-19.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, Ala., at 4 p.m. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation prior to the service at 3 p.m.
