Calling all senior softball players

Do you enjoy playing softball? Are you over 50 years old? If you answered yes, then you need to get to the ballfield. According to team contact Michael Dunaway, the season is off to a slow start.

This season, the senior softball team is struggling to find players due to several obstacles including COVID – 19, Hurricane Sally and several tropical systems.

“I have a list of 18 players and maybe half show up which is not enough,” said Dunaway.

The group has been around for six years and typically starts the season in November and meet each Monday on field one at the Sportsplex in Gulf Shores at 9:15 a.m.

Last season, the group donated money earned during the season to the Boy Scouts. Dunaway has plans to put together a game in February to raise money for local first responders but first he needs players.
