District Attorney Bob Wilters tapped as Grand Marshal for Bay Minette Christmas Parade

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that District Attorney Bob Wilters will lead the Christmas parade as grand marshal during the 37th Annual Christmas Festival in downtown Bay Minette on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 4:30 p.m.
Wilters is a native of Baldwin County, a graduate of Baldwin County High School, the University of Alabama and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
After practicing law in Bay Minette for a short period of time, he became a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was stationed in Mobile, Indianapolis and New York City.
Upon leaving the Bureau, he became Chief Assistant District Attorney of Baldwin County and held that position until January 1993 when he was appointed District Court Judge.
In 1999, he was elected Circuit Court judge and held that position for the next 16 ½ years, which included several years as presiding Circuit judge.

Wilters retired in June 2015 and was elected District Attorney and began serving Jan. 17, 2017. He is married to Ame and they have two grown children, Blaire and Stone, and one precious granddaughter, Amelia. The Wilters are members of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church and live in Foley.

Christmas tree – live or artificial? – Live.
If you were Santa Claus, what type of cookie would you want to be left out for you on Christmas Eve? – Oatmeal raisin and pecan.
What is your favorite Bay Minette Christmas Fest memory? – Freezing my buns off at the run.
What’s the best – or worst – Christmas present you’ve ever received? – The shirt my brother gave me that I really wanted, except it was too small for me but just his correct size.
What one thing are you most grateful for this holiday season? – Having my children and granddaughter at home and in good health.
What does Christmas mean to you? – The beginning of Hope and Life everlasting with the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
