Driveway art campaign brightens day of Bear Point residents

Some sidewalk chalk and a little creativity is all that is required to brighten someone’s day and keep the children entertained.

Bear Point Civic Association saw posts on social media and decided to have their own driveway art campaign.

“We thought this would be a good way to keep the community kids busy and take everyone's mind off all of the Coronavirus news,” said Sam Spencer.

Tara Nichols donated three big boxes of colored chalk that were put into small baggies children and parents could pick up from a bucket at the end of a Spencer’s driveway. The only catch was that artists decorate their driveways with cheerful, positive messages and post photos of their art on the BPCA Facebook page.

“The community response was great,” Spencer said. “Bear Point is the greatest place to live.”
