Former Mayor Bob Holk receives Certificate of Appreciation

Posted

MAGNOLIA SPRINGS - Bob Holk, former mayor of Magnolia Springs, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the town council during the Dec. meeting. Holk announced his resignation as mayor back in October, stating he felt it was the right time.

Mayor Kim Koniar presented Holk with the certificate, reading, “the spirit of a community is forged through the enthusiasm and dedication of its community leaders … Bob Holk has shown great enthusiasm and dedication as a member of the town council for thirteen years, and mayor from 2016-2019 … Bob Holk has gained the respect and admiration of his fellow citizens and has contributed in numerous ways towards the growth of the community since incorporation on June 29, 2006.”

Holk, who grew up in Magnolia Springs, helped with the incorporation of the town, and has served the town in some way since that time. Following his resignation, Holk stated he had already decided not to run for reelection during 2020, and he looked at the decision as a positive move for himself and the town.

“I’d just like to say thank you to everyone who sent me letters, phoned me, and even met me on the street and thanked me, it’s really meant a lot,” Holk said after accepting the certificate. “I look forward to working with this great group of people [town council].”
