Gulf Shores Police K9 officers win awards

Gulf Shores Police Department K9 officers Darlin and Mara recently traveled to Pensacola for the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Region 1 Field Trials.

Officer McElroy and K9 Darlin competed in Vehicle Narcotics Search and Overall Narcotics Search placing fourth in both events.

Officer Hancock and K9 Mara placed third in Indoor Narcotics Detector, third place in Two Man Patrol Intra Departmental Team (Fairhope Police Department Officer Babb and K9 Bauer were teammates) and fifth place in Agility.

The USPCA is the nation’s largest, continuously operating organization dedicated to promoting quality trained and certified canine teams.
