Harold Schneider

Harold Schneider was a native and lifelong resident of Foley. Harold was a U.S. Army veteran who achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He served the city of Foley as a volunteer firefighter. Harold followed his father’s footsteps as an auto mechanic at what is now known as U.J. Chevrolet in Mobile. He then worked at Klumpp Chevrolet in Foley. After Klumpp closed, he and Frank Hellmich went into business together and operated Frank Hellmich Automotive in Foley. Later Harold went on to start his own business, Schneider Auto and Truck Repair and ran his own business for forty one years. Harold was a third generation member of the Bishop O’Sullivan Council Knights of Columbus Council 2736. He was a member for 67 years serving in every office, several terms as District Deputy serving Baldwin County. A member of Father Gabriel Germann Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Harold is survived by his wife of thirty years, Lois Cassebaum Schneider; his son, William Harold (Billy) Schneider, who worked for him for over 35 years; one daughter, Lana Nicole Arnold; two granddaughters that he adored, Chloe and Allison Arnold; two step children Amy (David) Cardon, stepson, Tim (Laura) Stark, sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson and Helen Schumacher;and five step grandchildren. Visitation for Harold Nicholas Schneider was held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Elberta. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 am at the church. Interment followed at Prince of Peace Catholic Cemetery.
