GULF SHORES, Alabama — Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Gulf Shores will welcome the Rev. Will Lowry to the parish as its new rector on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Lowry comes to Holy Spirit from St. Theodore’s Episcopal Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas, where he has served as rector since 2016. Previously, he served as the priest-in-charge at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Tunica, Mississippi.

Lowry is a graduate of The School of Theology, Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Mississippi College. He served for more than 13 years as a youth minister for multiple parishes in the Dioceses of Mississippi and Arkansas.

“I believe that a Church should be the kind of place where anyone who seeks to know God in a deep and meaningful way and share in that with others can do so freely,” Lowry said. “I also believe a church should be the type of community that lives the Gospel out in the world by seeking to be the hands, feet and heart of the Body of Christ by serving and loving our neighbors.”

Lowry and his wife, Ivee, are the parents of two daughters.

Sunday services at Holy Spirit Holy Eucharist at 8 a.m. and Choral Eucharist at 10 a.m. A nursery is provided. A coffee hour is held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The church is located at 616 W. Fort Morgan Road in Gulf Shores. More information is available by visiting http://www.holyspiritep.com/ or calling the parish office at 251-968-5988.
