Jimmy Young Barton, age 88, a native of Summerville, Ga., former longtime resident of Birmingham, Ala., and a resident of Gulf Shores, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021.
Jimmy was a member of Lagoon Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and Zamora Shriners for over fifty years and he was a veteran in the United States Air Force.
Preceded in death by his father, mother, nine siblings and two step-children.
He is survived by his wife; Carolyn B. Barton of Gulf Shores, daughter; Kristal (Robert) Salter of Castleberry, Stepdaughters; Tina (John) Baran of Seaside, Fla., Nancy (Keith) Heaton of
Springville, Ala., son; Jimmy (Melanie) Barton of Mt. Ulla, N.C., numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held from Lagoon Baptist Church, Friday, June 18, 2021 at 2 p.m.
