LOXLEY -- It appears that incumbent Chris McCall will retain his seat without the need for a runoff, fending off three challengers in the race for the Place 4 council seat.

McCall was appointed last year to fill the council seat vacated by Richard Teal, who was appointed as mayor following the death of longtime Mayor Billy Middleton.

Preliminary results indicate McCall received 53.6 percent of the vote, followed by Randy Smith with 23.8 percent, Dr. Philip Dembowski with 12 percent and Beth Lovell with 10.6 percent.

Unofficial results are:

Chris McCall – 142
