FAIRHOPE – The city of Fairhope will continue public discussions of the municipal Comprehensive Land Use Plan with a series of neighborhood meetings.
The October meetings will be Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Quail Creek Clubhouse and at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22 at the Fairhope Civic Center. The meetings are open to the public and residents are urged to attend.
The comprehensive plan team and city staff will be at each meeting to explain the process and hear opinions from residents.
The project involves the creation of a community-driven comprehensive land use plan for the city of Fairhope to address growth with an emphasis on environmental stewardship and legal foundation for implementation, according to a city statement.
Public opinions will be key in helping drive the development of the plan.
“Your feedback is critical to the development of a successful plan that is truly community-driven,” said Mayor Sherry Sullivan. “I strongly encourage you to attend one of these or future neighborhood meetings to make sure your voice is heard. This is your chance to have your opinions counted.”
Future engagement meetings are set for 6 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Rotary Youth Club; 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at the James P. Nix Center; 10 a.m. Dec. 2 at Homestead Village; and 6 p.m. Dec.2 at the Thompson Hall Fire Station.
Meetings will also be held in January, February and March.
