Park at OWA reopens June 5

Posted

FOLEY – After months of entertainment venue closures, The Park at OWA is officially reopening on Friday, June 5 at 11 a.m. Guests can once again visit the amusement park and enjoy the thrills and fun The Park has to offer; but not without heightened safety measures developed based on guidance from the CDC and health officials.

Measures being implemented for the safety and health of guests and team members include health screenings for guests before entering The Park at OWA, installation of additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the resort, enhanced cleaning and sanitization practices, and added signage to encourage social distancing. To accommodate social distancing guidelines, a limited number of guests will be allowed into The Park at once.

“Our entire team has worked tirelessly the past few months to get The Park ready for guests. We are excited to see guests enjoying the rides and share special family moments once again,” said Kristin Hellmich, OWA’s Director of Marketing/PR. “We have always taken great pride in our Parks’ safety and cleanliness. The upcoming Park reopening will be no exception as we continue to implement recommended health and safety practices to ensure our guests have a great experience.”

Those wishing to enjoy a day of unlimited access to amusement park rides will need to purchase an attractions wristband from the Admissions Booth prior to entering The Park. Those who do not want to ride any of the attractions can purchase a $5 Non-Rider Pass, allowing entry into The Park. Non-Rider Passes allow guests the ability to stroll through The Park with their friends and family without having to pay full price for a wristband. More details can be found on OWA’s website.

After visiting The Park, then it’s time to hit Downtown OWA. Many restaurants have remained open throughout the shutdown via curbside and delivery and in compliance to recommended health and safety standards, and are now welcoming guests indoors. Open restaurants include Groovy Goat, Crazy Donuts, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant, Trattoria Pizza & Italian, Hershey’s Ice Cream Parlor, C’est Le Vin Wine Bar & Shop, Auntie Anne’s, and Cinnabon.

Open retailers include Fairhope Soap Company, Parker & Co. (a women’s boutique), Alvin’s Island, The Spice & Tea Exchange, and Body Tune Plus. For entertainment, Brandon Styles Live is open six days a week, welcoming guests to both his Magic and Variety shows.

Clash eSports Center, OWA’s state-of-the-art video gaming venue, and Sweet Tooth at OWA are scheduled to reopen on Friday, June 5.

The Park will be open seven days a week during the summer season. Plan ahead by checking Park opening and closing hours on OWA’s website. Keep checking back to see other reopening dates in the works.
