April 20, 1941 – January 12, 2021

Raymond Wade Miller, Sr., a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 79. Wade is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Erin Hearon Miller; brother, John Winston Miller (Janice); son, Raymond Wade Miller, Jr. (Lynn); daughter, Lee Anne Miller; grandchildren, Kyle James Van Hulzen, Zachary Raymond Miller, Audrey Lynn Miller; loving sisters-in-law, Betty Carolyn Hearon-Love and Viviene Hearon Wood. Wade left a beautiful legacy. He served his God faithfully and was very committed to his church. Not only did he have this deep connection with Jesus, but he also had a true love for his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His love for people was amazing. He was truly a giving man. He loved trips with his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved camping, family dinners, times with his son grilling out, but he especially loved his wife. He loved being right by her side. Nothing made him happier than to be surrounded by his family. Unfortunately, six years ago he was given a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and he slowly declined. He was surrounded by his family to the end. We will forever be better for having him in our lives and knowing his unconditional love. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He served in the Mississippi National Guard. At that point, he joined International Paper Company and worked in Financial Systems for 41 years. He worked in several Southern Craft Paper Mills before going to Corporate Accounting within International Paper Company. He served as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, went on Mission trips, and volunteered with Family Promise, Our Little Roses, and Emmaus. He volunteered wherever he was needed in the church. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Expressions of condolence for the family may be made at www.hughesfh.com. Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.
