Rochelle Hobbs Robinson, of Spanish Fort, Ala., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, at the age of 100.

Mrs. Robinson attended Troy State University and received her master’s degree in Education at the University of South Alabama. She was a teacher in Baldwin County from 1941 – 1983. Rochelle was very involved in community activities. She was a member of the Baldwin County Heritage Family; St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (Altar Guild, Choir, Sunday School Teacher, Thrift Store Volunteer); Nifty Thrifty Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award; Baldwin County Historical Society; Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher’s Society, receiving the member Longevity Award; Westminster Village Line Dancing Group, Corn Hole Olympics participant (Bronze Medal) and Trivia Contestant; avid reader/book club member; Resident Council Representative; Computer Club, Culinary Committee, and Environmental Committee member.

Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald P. Robinson, Sr.; parents, Comer A.E. Hobbs, and Nora Mae B. Hobbs; brother, Carl Hobbs; and aunt, Pearl Dubose.

She is survived by her children, Regina Rogers (C.W.), of San Diego, Linnea Israel, of Fairhope, Ala., Gerald Robinson, Jr. of Gulf Shores, Ala.; grandchildren, Captain Cameron W. Rogers, USN (Tanya), Lt. CMDR-USCG, Gregory Stuart Rogers (Natalina), Sarah Rochelle Israel Levey (Jordan), Julia Robinson Israel Vaughn (Cory), and Christian Austin Linnea Israel; great-grandchildren, Morgan Olivia Rogers, Sean William Rogers, Nina Dee Rogers, Eloise Tippon Vaughn, Niles Austin Levey, Aidan Thomas Rogers, and Fiona Campbell Rogers.

A private family burial will be held at St. Paul’s Memory Garden and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, Al or Kindred Hospice of Daphne, Ala.
