SB Tech hands out awards, certificates during ceremony

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The South Baldwin Center for Technology handed out certificates and awards to more than 200 Class of 2021 graduates during ceremonies held Thursday, April 29 at the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale.

Principal Kendall Mowdy, Assistant Principal Adam Sealy, Amber Hawkins, Carole Smith and Matt Judy presented the certificates, along with scholarships and honors.

In addition, 36 students were recognized as 2021 National Technical Honor Society graduates, Brian Hunter Vaughn was presented with the Excellence in Career Tech Award, representatives from Coastal Alabama Community College presented Short Term Training Certificates for welding and automotive students, those who have signed up for the military were recognized along with students who placed in statewide competitions.

Teacher of the Year Pam McDaniel and retiring welding teacher Mike Baswell were also recognized.

Also during the ceremony, Sunset Rotary Club members Sheriff Hoss Mack, Peggy Nelson, Amy and Randy Younce presented the first recipients of the Garrett Phillips Memorial Vocational Scholarship to Trinity Roper and Abbiegail Kennard.
