Town of Elberta taking over 4th of July fireworks display

ELBERTA - Come out and enjoy the first ever Town of Elberta put-on 4th of July fireworks display, taking place on Saturday of the holiday itself. The fireworks will launch at Faust Fields at Siebert Lane (15763 County Road 83) with arrival time beginning at 7 p.m. and fireworks beginning at 8:30.

“I talked to the VFW and they are not able to do anything with the 4th of July celebration,” said councilmember Vicky Norris, who is the planner over the town event. “With that being the case I talked to the Volunteer Fire Department and they would be willing to help us by setting up at the field for us to put on a town-run display.”

The Elberta Youth Sports Association Food Truck will be onsite to grill up some burgers and serve Elberta’s Famous Concessions. All proceeds will go to the youth of the community to assist with funds lost over spring and summer due to cancellations.

While at the event, social distancing is encouraged in correspondence with current state guidelines.

“To maintain a sense of social distancing, people can either remain in or near their vehicles once on the field,” Norris said. “Or they can tailgate or sit on the hoods of their cars to watch the fireworks.”

Norris is looking to have a display lasting from ten - 15 minutes for the town to come out and enjoy. For more information, call Vicky Norris at 251-232-5393.
