Vernon Bruhn was born in Elberta, AL on September 17, 1927 to Albert and Edna Bruhn. He started work at the sawmill owned by his father. He farmed and then painted in the South Baldwin area for about 45 years. After retiring he enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labors. Vernon received the Lord as his personal Savior at the age of 13 and served the Lord in many capacities. After helping start the Berean Baptist Church of Elberta, he taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served as a deacon.
He was survived by his wife, Dorothy Deiss Bruhn , two children, Michael (Octavia) Bruhn and Karen (Ken) Zacharias,9 grandchildren : Naomi Armendariz, Amanda Borders, JoyAnne Lozano, Benjamin Bruhn, Nathan Zacharias, Joshua Zacharias, Matthew Zacharias, Kimberly Zacharias, Elisabeth Zacharias, 6 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from Berean Baptist Church, Elberta, on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 11am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service time. Interment will follow at Elberta Public Cemetery.
