Baldwin EMC reports all meters restored

Posted

SUMMERDALE, Alabama — As of 3 p.m. Saturday, Baldwin EMC announced that power has been restored to 100 percent of the cooperative’s meters that are not damaged and are able to receive power.

The report came just three days after Hurricane Zeta moved across the service area knocking out power to more than 30,000 of the co-op’s meters, only five weeks after Hurricane Sally devastated the co-op’s system with a direct hit.

“We would like to give a heartfelt ‘Thank You!’ to our members for their support and encouragement, and to our employees, who  proved once again their commitment and dedication to restoring power to our members safely and quickly,” said Mark Ingram, vice president of corporate services and public relations. “We would also like to thank the line workers from several other cooperatives who assisted in the effort.”

All Baldwin EMC offices are open and will resume normal business hours,  8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Baldwin EMC members who need to report an outage should call 251-989-6247 or 1-800-837-3374.
