Fun at the library

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- The Robertsdale Public Library hosted a pair of events, continuing its summer reading program last week at the library on Pennsylvania Street.

On Wednesday, June 12, David Stephens of All Hands Productions from Decatur, Georgia, presented the Adventures of the Gingerbread Man puppet show. Fun programs are held every Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. at the library.

Remaining programs include Gene Cordova, ventriloquist, June 19; and Tom Rayborn, Tom Foolery juggling extravaganza on June 26.

On Thursday, June 13, the library hosted a welcome party for new library canine Gracie May Elizabeth Nall with shaved ice, popcorn and cake, along with a variety of games.

Jon “the Balloon Guy” Stayton also wowed participants with a variety of balloon creations, including the popular baby and zombie baby.

Daily activities are held throughout the month of June as part of the library’s summer reading program, “3…2…1… Blastoff! Alabama Has a Universe of Stories.”

The library summer reading program is open to boys and girls ages 3 to 12.

Parties are held every Thursday beginning at 2 p.m. Remaining parties include a Rooting Tooting Hoe Down on June 20 and a Princess Tea/Superhero party on June 27.
