Bells will ring for Alabama 200 on Saturday

Posted

The Fort Mims and Zachariah Godbold Chapters, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, invite you to join us in ringing “Bicentennial Bells Across Alabama” in recognition of Alabama’s Bicentennial on December 14, 2019! DAR Chapters throughout the State are inviting everyone to ring bells in celebration of Alabama’s Statehood Day! All bells are welcome…historic bells, school bells, church bells, fire house bells, city hall bells, people gathered in their local park (or on the Courthouse Square) ringing bells, proprietors ringing bells in their storefronts, and individuals ringing bells at home! We hope that bells across the State will ring at least once and as many as 22 times at 12:00 p.m. in honor of Alabama becoming the 22nd State on December 14, 1819! Please help us do our part to ensure that bells will be heard at noon from our “Southern shore” to the “Northern vale.”
