ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Want to spend three nights in a high-end resort overlooking the sunny sands of Orange Beach at a fraction of the cost to reserve the space?

You can, while helping to raise funds for The Lighthouse of Baldwin County.

The mission of the non-profit agency, which is based in Robertsdale, is to “eliminate family violence and sexual assault through education, intervention services, crisis hotline, family shelter, court advocacy and collaboration with the community.” The organization provides to Baldwin, Monroe, Conecuh and Escambia counties in Alabama.

“We count on funds raised through specific fundraisers to continue providing services not specifically covered through grants,” said Lighthouse Board Vice President Andolyn Fitzgerald, adding that the annual Sunset Supper fundraiser had to be canceled in May because of COVID-19.

“We raise significant funds through this fundraiser to support our agency’s work. Through the generosity of Spectrum Resorts, we are holding a raffle for a three-day stay at Turquoise Place in Orange Beach.”

To enter for a three night/three bedroom stay, go to facebook.com/abeacon and click on the link. Tickets for the fundraiser cost $20 each, or $50 for three tickets. A Facebook Live drawing will be held at noon on Aug. 15.

The winning ticket must be redeemed by May 31, 2021. The winner is responsible for a $150 cleaning fee.

Based in Robertsdale, The Lighthouse opened in 1994 and commemorated its 25th anniversary with a pair of events last October, a luncheon at the Baldwin County Central Annex and a candlelight vigil at Honeybee Park in Robertsdale.

The Lighthouse is authorized by the county District Attorney’s office as the official domestic violence shelter in Baldwin County and also provides a 24-hour crisis line, individual and group counseling, case management, court advocacy services, transitional housing, advocacy for children and prevention education.

The Lighthouse is a non-discriminatory, equal opportunity agency, partially supported by the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act, Victims of Crime Act, Violence Against Women Act, Department of Public Health, U.S. Department of Housing and Development, and the Baldwin County United Way.

The Lighthouse is a member of the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Alabama Coalition Against Sexual Violence.
