Power/Utility Updates

  • SANITARY SEWER NOTICE: Gulf Shores Utilities has issued a notice that all customers may experience an interruption in sewer service until further notice. Crews are working to restore service in areas where gravity sewer is available. Areas that have low-pressure sewer (grinder pumps) will be assessed after power is restored in those areas.

  • Baldwin EMC is actively working to restore power to our area. They have hired an additional 1,500 contractors to come in and help expedite their efforts.

  • BOIL WATER NOTICE: Gulf Shores Utilities has issued a BOIL WATER NOTICE for all residents south of West 12th Avenue (south of Domino's), including West Beach, East Beach, and the State Park Campground as well as customers west of the Peninsula neighborhood of Fort Morgan Road until further notice. Water should be boiled for at least three minutes before drinking. If possible, refrigerate leftover boiled water. Use boiled water for drinking, food preparation, mixing baby formula, washing food utensils and equipment etc. Remember that containers may need to be sanitized before using to store safe water. . If you have any questions about this, please contact Gulf Shores Utilities at 251-968-6323.

  • Gulf Shores Utilities is asking everyone to conserve water as much as possible. Due to power outages, the lift stations that are used to convey sewage to wastewater treatment plants are not in service. Overuse of toilet flushing or water going down drains may cause lift stations to overflow and back up into your home. Please be aware and try and limit water usage as much as possible.

  • Due to several water main breaks, water has been shut off for all residents/Gulf Shores Utilities Customers south of West 12th Avenue (south of Domino's), including West Beach, East Beach, and the State Park Campground. Gulf Shores Utilities is actively working to assess the damage and restore services as soon as possible. If you have any questions about this, please contact Gulf Shores Utilities at 251-968-6323.

  • All residential and commercial trash pickup is suspended until further notice.

Volunteer Opportunities

Buyer Beware

Please be aware of “fake” contractors. If you contract with someone to help you repair your home or property, make sure they have a current Gulf Shores Business License and/or Contractor Re-Entry Pass.

There are a lot of contractors who will come into the area after a storm and scam residents. Please be vigilant and make sure they show you documentation that they are licensed. If you suspect that someone is trying to scam you, please contact the GSPD at 251-968-2431.

Here is a link with some great information from the State of Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board on how to make good contracting decisions. https://hblb.alabama.gov/consumers/

Contractors will not be issued a Contractor Re-Entry Pass without a valid Gulf Shores Business License. For more information on how to obtain a Gulf Shores Business License, click here https://www.gulfshoresal.gov/779/General-Business-License.
