Foley Kiwanis Annual Christmas Parade set to return in 2021

FOLEY - The Foley Kiwanis Club’s Annual Christmas Parade is ready for a comeback this year after cancelling in 2020. The parade will roll through the streets of downtown Foley on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. and will follow the same route as previous years. Lineup begins at 8 a.m. between the Foley Armory and the Foley Public Library.

“Let’s work hard to get the biggest Christmas parade that we’ve ever had and make a huge comeback from last year,” said Kiwanis member and Foley Public Library Director John Jackson. “We were poised to have a huge parade (in 2020), and the year before we had over 70 entries if you count all the tractors and cars and all the individual entries and floats, but let’s see if we can top that this year.”

Application forms to participate in the parade can be found online at https://foleykiwanis.club or picked up at the Foley Public Library. Completed forms can be scanned and emailed to the Kiwanis Club at foleykiwanisclub@mail.com or Jackson at jjackson@cityoffoley.org, or dropped off at the library (319 East Laurel Avenue). There is no entry cost to participate in the parade.

This year, the Foley Public Library will act as a drop off location if anyone would like to donate candy to be thrown during the parade. Those who have leftover Halloween candy or who would like to purchase candy for the Christmas parade are welcome to drop it off at the library. For more information on the parade or to sign up via phone, call Jackson at 251-943-1032.
