Robertsdale PD announces promotions

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Robertsdale Police Department held a reception on Wednesday, May 27 at City Hall announcing the promotions of three officers following the retirement of Lt. Rex Bishop in February.

Officer Ted Stone, a 15-year veteran of the police department, was promoted to lieutenant, filling the position of chief investigator that Bishop held with the department for the last 17 years, said Robertsdale Police Chief Brad Kendrick.

Paul Overstreet, who has been with the police department for the last eight years, was promoted to corporal to fill the position in the investigation unit vacated by Stone, while Thomas Kiel, a 21-year veteran of the police department, has been promoted to the position of corporal in the patrol division.

The Robertsdale Police Department includes a total of 17 officers in the investigation and patrol divisions, five corrections officers, four dispatchers, one animal control officers and two traffic control officers, Kendrick said.
