Seniors in Robertsdale celebrate birthdays in July

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The George P. Thames Adult Activity Center celebrated birthdays on Wednesday, July 14 at the center on East Chicago Street in Robertsdale.

It was a taco fiesta with a choice of soft or crunchy tacos, tortilla chips, a choice of beef or chicken, and all the fixings. Lunch with a variety of deserts, including birthday cake provided by Kindred Hospice.

Seven July birthdays were celebrated with a special gift bag and serenaded with “Happy Birthday,” including Lillian Cutro, Beverly Cutro, Beverly Collins, Cyndee Jones, Ruby Lee, Becky Hayes and Clara Cox.

Other July birthdays include Marjorie Ard, Pat Hallberg, Sioux Thompson, Cheryl Arbour, Glenda Kirkland, Veronica Williamson, Becki Moray, Joyce Allen, Earl Brooks, Nancy Blackmon, Lloyd Fuqua, Zack White, Kyle Nespor, Laura Johnson, Colton Phillips, Paul Hollingsworth, Debra Myers, Elizabeth Silcox, Mike Campbell, Bill Mills, Shirley Wright, Shirley Malone, Martha Phillips and Aaron Roberts.

Potluck lunch will be held Friday, July 30 beginning at noon. Participants are asked to bring a covered dish.

Seniors are also invited to ride the bus on Saturday, Aug. 7 to the Mobile Country Music Association potluck in Chickasaw. Drop by or call the center for details.

Other activities at the center include exercise from 8:30 to 9:30 every Monday and Thursday; exercise every Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., dominoes and cards from 8 a.m. to noon daily.

Daily, weekly, monthly and special events for adults over age 50 are hosted at the center and at the PZK Hall on Alabama 104 in Robertsdale.
