Michael McInnis "Pops" Thomas, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, surrounded by beloved family and friends.

Michael was the true example of a family man who enjoyed being on the water, Auburn football and cooking for loved ones. Michael was involved in the development of this community, including being on the board of the Baldwin County Home Builders Association.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rachel Thomas; and brother, Ernest "Boots" Thomas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Barbara; children, Rachel Wallace (Zach), Amanda Stuart, Matthew Stuart (Ansley), David Thomas and Claire Jones; two grandchildren, Camden and Andie; five siblings, Thorn, Kista, Daniel, Karin, Tina and their loving spouses and children.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 2 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, Alabama, with a funeral service to follow at 11.

Immediately following services at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, there will be a graveside service at Montrose Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department or The Mulherin Home.
