CLASS 6A, AREA 2
DAPHNE, Ala. — The Trojans (42-5) went 3-0 to win the Class 6A, Area 2 tournament at Jubilee Field. The Trojans and the 6A Area 2 runner-up Golden Bears advanced to the South Regional to face Blount and Saraland Thursday in Gulf Shores.
The Trojans defeated Baldwin County 5-1 and Robertsdale 1-0 in 10 innings. Then. in the championship game, Daphne beat Robertsdale 6-0.
For the tournament, Aspyn Godwin was 4-9 with a double, home run, two RBIs, and three runs. Karsen Pierce went 3-9 with a double, home run, two RBIs, and two runs. Jessi Stevens went 3-3 with a home run and three RBIs. MC Sweatt also had three hits, with a walk-off RBI double in the 10-inning victory over Robertsdale.
In the circle, Makenna Pierce (21-2) went 2-0 including the10-inning shutout over Robertsdale. She pitched a total of 17 innings with 13 strikeouts (160 for the season). Karsen Pierce (5-0) got the win in the title game with a seven-inning shutout and three strikeouts.

Weather permitting, first-round play is set to begin Thursday (May 11) for Daphne and Robertsdale at the Sportsplex at 1:30 p.m. The Trojans face the Leopards and the Golden Bears take on the Spartans.

CLASS 7A, AREA 2
Pirates win Area 2, Lions are Area 2 runner up/ Both advance to South Regional

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Fairhope Pirates won the Class 7A, Area 2 tournament championship game 10-0 over the Area 2 runner-up Foley Lions. Kelsey Reagan’s walk-off double secured the 10-run win for the Pirates. Fairhope outscored their opponents 30-0 in three games defeating the Lions twice and the McGill-Toolen Catholic Yellow Jackets in the tournament. Fairhope will advance to the South Regionals in Gulf Shores.
The Pirates are set to play MGM and the Lions face off with Baker at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (May 11) at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.
