Anne Barbre Trippe

Anne Barbre Trippe was born Aug. 13, 1928, and died Sept. 1, 2023. She was born in Vienna, Georgia, the daughter of Birdie Wright Barbre and James Cromer Barbre. She spent her formative years in Albany, Georgia, graduating from Albany High School with honors and attending Valdosta State College for Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and her brother as well as her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Cecil Gordon Trippe.

She is survived by her daughter, Cecilia Trippe McNeese (Bud) of Fairhope, Alabama; her son Paul Gordon Trippe (Phyllis) of Columbia South Carolina; four grandchildren, Dr. Trippe McNeese, Lt. Colonel Tucker McNeese (Joni), Dr. Allie Trippe, Preston Trippe (Julia) and six great-grandchildren.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Havana, Florida, for life, she served in multiple capacities in the church over many years. Having moved to Fairhope, Alabama, from Havana, Florida, in 2009 to be near her daughter, Anne became a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bird watcher, gardener, and bridge player.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Covenant Hospice and Eastern Shore Rehabilitation and Health Center.

A private family burial will be held in Havana, Florida, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Havana, Florida, Trinity Presbyterian Church, Fairhope, Alabama, or Thornwell Home for Children, Clinton, South Carolina.
