Baldwin EMC partners with Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office to offer child identification system

SUMMERDALE, Alabama — Baldwin EMC is excited to announce its partnership with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s department to provide an identification system for the children in our community.

The Mobile EZ Child ID System will allow school resource officers to provide Baldwin County parents with printed records of their child/children including digital fingerprints, a digital photo and vital demographic information.

“Baldwin EMC has offered the community child identification kits in the past, but they did not have this level of technology where the fingerprints are taken digitally,” says Baldwin EMC Manager of Business Development, Energy Services and Advanced Metering Greg Gipson. “When we realized the Sheriff’s office was looking for a way to implement the Mobile EZ Child ID System, we were thrilled to have an opportunity to work together and pool our resources to make this partnership happen.”

“The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office SRO/Community Outreach Unit is very excited about our partnership with Baldwin EMC to present a digital fingerprinting unit that can directly help protect our youth within our school system and communities,” says Cpl. Jeff Spaller. “Sheriff Mack is a big supporter of our current youth programs and constantly supports us in our community outreach efforts. This partnership will offer (us) another tool in our arsenal to help keep our youth and community safe.”

The Mobile EZ Child ID System service will be available at local schools and community events.

Baldwin EMC is a member-owned electric cooperative serving more than 73,000 accounts in Baldwin and Monroe Counties in southwest Alabama, including Alabama’s Gulf Coast. This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
