Ella Lomax from the Daphne Trojan volleyball team has been voted by Gulf Coast Media readers as the first-ever Seacrest Furniture Athlete of the Week.

At the season-opening Juanita Boddie Tournament, the Daphne sophomore captain logged 58 kills with a .223 hitting percentage to go along with 56 digs, 5 aces, 1 block and a 1.98 serve-receive passer rating. As a freshman, Lomax was named to the Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association's second-team all-state.
