The Foley Art Center will be featuring artist Jane Lee throughout August and September, and invites the community to stop by to browse through her artwork, along with the other many talented artists on display at the center. A reception was held for Lee on Thursday, Aug. 8, bringing out many to meet with Lee and to view the artwork available for sale.
Lee is the owner of Coastal Creations, and moved to the Orange Beach area from Slidell, Louisiana nearly ten years ago. At the time of the move, Lee was caring for her husband, who had sustained a spinal cord injury during a job accident in 1999.
Her husband passed away five years after the move, leaving Lee unsure of what to do next after being a full-time caregiver for 15 years.
“I started doing different arts and crafts, and eventually began doing coastal art,” Lee said. “The 2018 Foley Art Center’s Trim a Tree was my first “public sale” event. I’ve learned a lot, found new self-confidence and thoroughly enjoy my artsy life.”
You can follow Lee on Facebook at Coastal Creations or through Foley Art Center, and you can stop by the Art Center (211 North McKenzie Street) to view some of her works.
