Kenneth L. Knutsen, born in Seattle, Washington and a longtime resident of Fairhope, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018.

Ken is survived by his wife, Cheryl Akins Knutsen; his three children, Kristine Karol (Brad) Taylor, Karlene Kay Knutsen, Kreig Kenneth Knutsen; grandchildren, Johnathan Joseph Nichols, Bethany Noreen Lee; brother, Laurence Alan (Barbara) Knutsen; and many nieces and nephews.

Ken received his B.S. degree in business from the University of Puget Sound in Washington.

He spent 50 years in the aerospace industry, beginning as an apprentice with Boeing in Seattle, Washington. He applied his skill and training to establish Rohr Aero Services in Fairhope, which is now United Technologies, and expanded the company to France. After retirement from Rohr, he worked with various aerospace companies nationally and internationally.

He enjoyed many years of golf with his friends and business associates, and enjoyed traveling and cruising nationally and internationally with his family, friends and wife of 27 years.

Ken was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he served on the church's finance committee.

A memorial service celebrating Kenneth's life will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 545 S. Mobile St., Fairhope, AL 36532 on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 at 2 p.m.

A gathering in Trinity Hall will follow the memorial service.

A private interment will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
