Mrs. Dale Benik, age 70, a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away at her home on Feb. 16, 2017.
Dale was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and spent most of her life in Fairhope, Alabama.
Dale was an avid Scottish terrier lover and a member of Alabama Scottish Terrier Rescue Association.
She retired in 2014 from Budweiser Busch Distributing in Mobile after a lengthy career as a bookkeeper.
Dale got great pleasure from the birds in her yard, her flowers and her beloved dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Evelyn Covington; and her brother, Larry Covington.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, William "Willie" Benik; two nieces, Laurie (David) Hawkins of Franklin, Tennessee and Paula (Joseph) Roche; two great-nieces, Avery and Anika Roche, all of Louisville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Janet Covington of Daphne, Alabama; several close cousins and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
