For the third straight year, the Robertsdale Navy JROTC unit has been selected to present the nation’s colors at the YellaWood 500 in Talladega on Oct. 1 as well as the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18, 2024.
Robertsdale representatives were on the infield of Talladega Superspeedway before the races on Oct. 3, 2021, and on Oct. 2, 2022. Additionally, they presented the colors ahead of the Daytona 500 races on Feb. 20, 2022, and earlier this year on Feb. 19.
Baldwin County racing fans can take advantage of discounted tickets where a portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the Robertsdale NJROTC unit. Tickets for Talladega can be found at fevo.me/2023rhs and for Daytona at fevo.me/2024rhsdaytona with deadlines of Sept. 8 and Oct. 27, respectively.
“This will once again be a great opportunity for our cadets as each year millions of fans watch our cadets either live or on national television,” said Frank Starr, Lieutenant Commander, US Navy Retired.
