SPANISH FORT – The city of Spanish Fort has set the deadline for placing storm-related debris in the municipality at Thursday, Nov. 12.
All debris from Hurricanes Sally and Zeta must be placed at on city rights of way for pickup by the municipal collection contractor by 8 a.m., according to a Spanish Fort statement.
On Thursday, the contractor will begin a final sweep on Thursday. All storm-related debris not in place by then will not be picked up by the contractors. The collection is also only for storm-related debris and not for other tree clippings, household garbage or non-storm debris. Pickup for these types of debris and for any debris which requires pickup after the final sweep on Nov. 12 will be collected in the usual manner by Waste Pro following Waste Pro guidelines, the city statement said.
