Suspicious man apprehended at Foley Middle

Today, Sept. 21, at about 8:30 a.m., an unarmed suspicious person the area of Foley Middle School called the Foley Police Department. He advised the Foley Police Department Communication Officer he was being chased by people with guns.

The subject entered the school at which time the school was immediately put on lockdown. The school was on lockdown for about one hour. The subject, Christopher Mixer, 29, was apprehended inside the school by a Foley school resource officer. No weapons or drugs were found on Mixer.

The subjects name is Christopher Mixer, 29 years of age, he was searched. No gun, weapons or drugs were found. During the investigation, it was determined that Mixer was suffering from an altered mental state and that no one was chasing him. He was transported to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

Christopher Mixer has been charged with disorderly conduct at this time. Other charges may be pending.
