BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Three residents were arrested after discovering marijuana plants growing, along with other drug-related items at a home in Bay Minette.

Bay Minette Police Officers responded to a home on Neighbors Lane Saturday, April 28 in reference to a complaint of drug activity, according to a release issued Monday by Chief Al Tolbert.

Upon the officer’s arrival, they came in contact with Kinnion Pacen-Lane Jackson, Shannon Doven Bryars and Jonathan Herbert Brown in the backyard of the residence. Officers observed in plain sight juvenile marijuana plants growing in the backyard, narcotics and drug paraphernalia items in and around a shed in the backyard.

During the investigation officers discovered over 30 juvenile marijuana plants growing in the backyard, approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine ice, an amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia items to indicate the residence was used to distribute narcotics.

Jackson, 18, whose address is listed as Neighbors Lane, Bryars, 47, whose address is listed as Crosby Road, and Brown, 30, whose address is listed as Alabama 59, were each charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance; unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Jackson, who was also charged with intent to distribute, was released Sunday on a $1,000 bond.

Bryars and Brown are being held at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Correction, Bryars on a $23,500 bond and Brown on a $21,500 bond.

“These arrests are part of our continued effort to combat drug crimes and keep our communities safe and drug free,” Tolbert said. “We ask anyone who has any information regarding crimes in the City of Bay Minette to email it to (tips@ci.bay-minette.al.us) or call 251-580-2559.”
