The Many Moods of Christmas by Robert Shaw will be featured in the Christmas Homecoming Concert at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church Sunday evening Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
“Past choristers from over the last decade will join with current members in a program that includes favorite Christmas anthems by John Rutter, Mark Hayes, Victor Johnson and others,” according to Cody Johnson, Gulf Shores United Methodist Church Director of Worship Arts.
The Tower Handbells, an ecumenical handbell choir with ringers from the South Baldwin area, will perform a jazz arrangement of the Christmas spiritual "Go Tell it on the Mountain." Soloists include Elisa Lyle on the flute, Dr. Michael Brown on the trumpet and vocalists Marsha Guyer and Barbara Shepard.
The Gulf Shores United Methodist Church youth choir will join the chancel group on several selections, including the popular Ukrainian carol, "Carol of the Bells," traditional Nigerian carol, "Betelehemu," with Cade Whitman featured as soloist.
